Exceptional golf course design is about more than just creating a challenging and enjoyable game – it’s about shaping landscapes that nurture biodiversity, respect the environment, and foster a deeper connection between people and the natural world.
Dubai Hills Golf Club is a fine example of how sustainable design can coexist beautifully with nature. The presence of the wild Arabian Gazelle and the graceful Sand Gazelle – both native species of the Arabian Peninsula – within the grounds is a testament to this vision. These majestic animals have made the course and its surrounding landscape their home, roaming freely in a space designed with their well-being in mind.
Their peaceful coexistence with golfers, greenkeepers, and operations teams is a rare and inspiring example of harmony between wildlife and human activity. It’s a daily reminder that when we prioritize ecological stewardship, nature responds in kind.
At the heart of our approach is the belief that golf courses can – and should – be sanctuaries for wildlife. By integrating natural habitats into the design and maintenance practices, we’ve created an environment where gazelles thrive, adding an extraordinary element to every round played.
It’s not just about playing a great course – it’s about experiencing something truly unique: the quiet wonder of sharing the fairways with the wildlife that belongs here.
In 2019, Dubai Hills Golf Club was named the “World’s Best New Golf Course” by the World Golf Awards.
