We’re thrilled to share that EGD designer Gary Johnston has been elected as the new President of the European Institute of Golf Course Architects (EIGCA).

Gary commented on his appointment, “I’m feeling incredibly proud and deeply honoured to have been elected President of the European Institute of Golf Course Architects (EIGCA). It’s a privilege to serve an organisation that represents the highest standards in golf course design and champions the future of our profession. I’m grateful to the Members for their trust, and to all those who’ve inspired and encouraged me — especially the wonderful team at European Golf Design. Their unwavering support, belief in my potential, and the opportunities they’ve given me over the years have played a huge role in shaping my career. From early mentorship to collaborating on projects across the world, EGD has provided the foundation for so much of what I’ve been fortunate to achieve. I simply wouldn’t be here without them.

Gary becomes EGD’s second designer to serve as President of the EIGCA, following Ross McMurray, who held the role from 2017 to 2019.
